The Argentine playmaker Oscar Trejo announced this Sunday that he is resigning from continuing to be the captain of Rayo Vallecano for "many reasons, but the main one is not agreeing on the methodology or the treatment of workers and fans, the raw material that really makes it important and different from this club"
Trejo, who played 270 official games in the red-and-white shirt against Mallorca on the last matchday, is the ninth player with the most appearances in Rayo's history.
"The bracelet for me was never a priority. From the first day I met this club and its people I knew it was my place. I don't know how much longer I will have space in it, but what I do know is what I want, the time in whoever is there, I want to dedicate myself to enjoying my teammates, playing football and the people, the ones who are inside and outside every day, the ones that make it special and that for me is the best asset of the club," said Trejo, in his statement published on social networks.
"I had this idea in my head for a long time and after thinking about it well, I have decided to stop being the captain. There are many reasons, but the main one is not agreeing on the methodology or the treatment of workers and fans, the raw material that "It really makes this club important and different. Let no one doubt that from my new place I will continue to support, defend and, above all, take care of what for me I have always said and will say is my home," he confessed.
Trejo, one of Rayo Vallecano's most committed footballers, has already shown on previous occasions his disagreement with the treatment of fans on issues such as season tickets, the ERTE that the club's workers suffered some time ago or some friction with the board due to having a different point of view of the management of issues that affect the workforce.
