The judge in the Rubiales case will investigate the leaks and restrict access to the videos

The judge of the National Court investigating the Rubiales case, Francisco de Jorge, has been very upset with the leaks that are occurring and has taken action on the matter. De Jorge has decided to withdraw the parties' access to the videos of the appearances to avoid further leaks and has announced that he will investigate them thoroughly because they constitute a serious crime of revealing secrets.

In recent weeks, several media outlets have published extracts from the statements that have been given in the National Court in the framework of the investigation for an alleged crime of sexual assault and coercion by the then president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales. , to the Spanish international Jenni Hermoso during the celebration of the World Cup won by Spain in August.

Last week Rubiales' first statements were leaked and yesterday Telecinco broadcast in prime time the video of Jenni Hermoso's appearance before the prosecutor in the case, Marta Durántez, before formalizing her complaint. In addition, it also reproduced the appearances of Rubiales and the soccer players Alexia Putellas, Irene Paredes and Misa Rodríguez, as witnesses.

These facts, which clearly constitute a serious crime, in addition to violating the protection of the victim in the middle of an open judicial process, have not gone down well with the courts. For this reason, this Tuesday, before taking statements as investigated against former coach Jorge Vilda and the marketing director of the Federation, Rubén Rivera, Judge Francisco de Jorge has shown his discomfort with the leaks and has limited access to the videos to the parties and will only allow them to consult them within the court.

Vilda has denied having pressured Jenni Hermoso during her statement this morning at the National Court. The former Spanish coach has acknowledged that he did not activate the anti-harassment protocol after Rubiales' kiss and has denied at all times having pressured Jenni Hermoso's brother to get the soccer player to come out in defense of the former presidents and thus "reduce the soufflé."
