Terrassa will host Alavés in the Copa del Rey

After defeating Albacete, Terrassa knew that in the second round of the Copa del Rey they would be awarded a First Division team. It will be Alavés, who left such a good image in Montjuïc last weekend, who will travel to the Olímpic de Terrassa. Chus Trujillo's team will try to surprise again, this time with a team three divisions above. Vitorians are not ones to relax. If in the first round, the Vallesans needed a single goal from Jordi Cano, their new rival crushed Ciudad de Murcia 0-10.

Terrassa was not lucky enough to face any of the possible great rivals that could fall in their path, such as Athletic (Cayón), Real Sociedad (Andratx), Valencia or even Girona.

The First Division leader, Girona, will travel to Alicante, to face Orihuela in Los Arcos, where Nàstic fell. Both teams have not faced each other since 1993. Then, both teams were active in Second B. Thirty years later, the story is very different.

The draw meant that Espanyol would have a rival in the same category: Valladolid. The match will be played at Stage Front Stadium. It so happens that on October 14 the two teams already faced each other on the same stage with a 2-0 victory for the locals (Braithwaite and Puado). The blue and white were leaders alone but that was the last victory for Luis García, now replaced by Ramis, on the bench in the Second Division.

The first three pairings were those of the three Third RFEF teams that are still alive in the competition. Atlético Astorga will host Sevilla, Arosa – who already faced Granada – will play this time against Valencia while Atzeneta, after eliminating Zaragoza, will face Getafe. They are the most unequal duels, a priori.

The matches will be played between December 5 and 7, except for Zamora-Villarreal, which is brought forward to November 22 since the Castellón team, which Marcelino now directs, has a Europa League match postponed that week.
