La PalmaVela reaches 150 registered in its 20th edition

The 20th edition of PalmaVela will have 150 registered. The number of confirmed participants in the first major competition of the year in the Mediterranean is a sign of the good health of the competition, which is held from April 26 to May 5 at the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP).

The figure was confirmed on March 29 by Vivi Mainemare, RCNP sports coordinator. "The response of both the national and international fleet to this 20th anniversary of the most extensive regatta in competition days and in number of participating classes not only from the Balearic Islands but from the entire Mediterranean is a huge satisfaction," said Mainemare.

The RCNP will experience ten days of top-level competition made up of three regattas along with the 52 Super Series and the multi-class regatta. Taking advantage of the proximity of PalmaVela, its director Manuel Fraga wanted to praise “the continuous sporting work that the club does from grassroots sailing to high competition in both Olympic and cruise classes.”

“We have a very intense year ahead of us apart from the Princess Sofía Cruise Trophy that we just finished, with the PalmaVela in a month and the Copa del Rey MAPFRE, the J/70 class World Championship at the end of summer, the OK Dinghy European Championship and the Swan World Nations League, The Nations League, in autumn and in November a new high altitude regatta for the Mini 6.50” class between Palma-Melilla-Palma,” Fraga added.
