Didn’t Get Your Skiing Fix During the Olympics? Check Out These Upcoming Events

Skiing is one of the most exciting sports to watch. Even if you watched every alpine, cross-country, freestyle, and ski jumping moment in Beijing, the Olympics probably just whet your ski-watching whistle.

Well, there’s good news! There are several events coming up to satisfy your ski-watching needs.

HomeLight US Revolution Tour at Copper

Check out this freeski and snowboard halfpipe competition, which runs from February 26th through March 3rd in Copper, CO. As part of the HomeLight Revolution Tour, this is one of the most exciting skiing events you’ll find outside of the Olympics.

You’ll be awestruck by the Halfpipe, Slopestyle, and Big Air athletes. And since this is a qualifying opportunity for USASA Futures Tour events, you know each skier will bring their best.

SuperTour Finals and Spring National Championships

Few sports require the discipline and patience of cross-country skiing. These skills are on display at this event, which partners with the Canadian National Championships in Whistler, British Columbia. Here’s a look at the events you can take in from March 20th through the 27th:

  • Freestyle Interval Start – Men 10km, Women 5km
  • Classic Interval Start – Men 15km, Women 5km
  • Classic Sprint – U16, U18, U20, and Senior
  • Freestyle Team Sprint – Dresden Style
  • Freestyle Mass Start – 42-45km

To up the ante, several of these events are scored for SuperTour points—and a few are US Nationals Championship Events. This is must-see skiing for plankers!

Palisades US Freestyle Championships

Your favorite freestylers head to Olympic Valley, CA for one of the last championship skiing events of the season. They’ll compete in moguls and dual moguls—and you can be there in person! Palisades Tahoe is a fantastic resort. So book a room, take in the championships, and emulate those world-class skiers by hitting the slopes yourself.

Holeshot Cross Tour at Copper Mountain Resort

This one is a little out of the box because it’s open to more than established and decorated skiers. From March 23-28, Holeshot brings together both World Cup and up-and-coming skiers. Junior skiers from across the country are invited to show the tour what they’ve got.

Events on the Holeshot Cross Tour include the SBX/SX NorAm Race and the SBX/SX Futures Tour.

Still Need More Skiing? Check Out These Upcoming Events

If these events still haven’t quenched your thirst for world-class skiing events, stay tuned for more information on next season’s schedule:

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The US Ski Team is always training or competing at snowy venues around the world. So keep an eye out for upcoming events. And instead of watching from your couch, think about attending one or two for a once in a lifetime vacation.
