D-11 3A wrestling: Friday recap and Saturday reset

Here’s the way things stand heading into the second day of the District 11 Class 3A wrestling championships at Liberty’s Memorial Gym.

First, here’s the Saturday schedule:

Session III

9 a.m., second-round consolations; 10:30 a.m., semifinals and third-round consolations; 1 p.m., fourth-round consolations.

Session IV (with Class 2A)

4 p.m.: Third- and fifth-place matches; 5:45 p.m., finals.

Admission for session III is $6 adults/$4 seniors and students; all tickets for Session IV are $6.

You can catch the semifinals and 1 p.m. consolations on WGPA-AM (1100) radio with Jack Logic, former Easton coach Steve Powell, and Dave Spadoni from 10:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bethlehem Catholic and Liberty still have all 14 of their wrestlers still alive in consolations and championships combined. Northampton has 13, Freedom 12, and Bangor, Pottsville and Nazareth 11 each. Easton has 10.

Remember the top five in each weight class qualify for the Northeast Regional at Liberty next weekend.

Brackets can be found here.
