The Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, Barça's provisional home until November 2024, is now practically adapted to host the Blaugrana club. The second phase of the adaptation works of the Olympic site has finished, with a new lawn, although it is not the final one, and with several remodeled interior areas.
The Barcelona entity has been working for several months to adapt the Montjuïc facilities to the requirements of the League and international competitions. The hospitality rooms, the box, the press stands, the changing rooms and the pitch are some of the spaces that have undergone the greatest transformation.
On the other hand, the drainage, irrigation and water treatment system has also been renewed, and a new water tank has also been installed, as well as all the competition systems and television broadcasting. Other actions that have been carried out at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys are the adaptation of sports lighting, the pre-installation of access shifts to the gates and also the telecommunications networks.
The second phase of the works was carried out in two periods due to the musical performances planned on Montjuïc, first in May and finally between June 11 and July 3. In recent weeks, it has also been used to move the generator sets and set up one of the television commentators' stands.
The third and last phase of the works will begin on July 24, at which time the seats in the stands will be replaced in the current evacuation routes from the concerts and the seats in the VIP areas will be installed. In addition, the sports competition technological system (VAR, cameras...) will be implemented and the benches and goals will be set up, as well as the ticket offices, the member service office and the final lawn.
Barça will debut at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys with the Joan Gamper Trophy, which will take place at the beginning of August although there is no set date yet, and the first official match will be against Cádiz on the second day of the League.
