Alonso lowers expectations: “The goal is to get into Q3”

The Spanish Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) was sixth in the two free practice sessions on Friday of the Japanese Grand Prix and after getting out of the car he assured that his objective is to get into the third round of the classification -Q3- which gives access to the ten most fast to fight for pole.

"We have been in all Q3 so far, every weekend, so that will be the objective to continue with that streak. That will be the only objective," he said in statements reported by Motorsport.com. “We will study all the data tonight and, hopefully, tomorrow we will be competitive,” he added.

Fernando Alonso praised the Suzuka track, where he won in 2006 with Renault. "I felt good, it's always nice to come to Suzuka. Formula 1 is made for these types of tracks, so it was a real pleasure to drive here today and we'll see if we're fast too," he said.
