Alonso complains about Sainz: "He took me against the wall, it's a bit surprising"

Fernando Alonso always tends to speak very clearly. Even when he is dealing with a friend like Carlos Sainz. The races are the races and there are no friendships. The Asturian driver, sixth in the Baku Sprint Race that Checo Pérez won, complained emphatically about a race action from Madrid: "He took me against the wall in turn 2. It was a bit surprising," he declared visibly annoyed that of Aston Martin on the microphone of Dazn TV.

Alonso was referring to an action at the restart of the race, on lap 6/17, after the virtual safety-car. He was seventh, behind Hamilton, he managed to overtake the Englishman, but he was unable to continue his adventure when he was blocked by Sainz's Ferrari.

According to the Asturian, in Sainz's defense maneuver, he took him against the wall. However, the action did not require any investigation by the F1 stewards during the race.

“We have added points, it was not easy starting eighth. Let's see if we can be fifth, because Carlos (Sainz) took me into the wall at Turn 2. It was a bit of a surprise. But let's see if we can do something and we can win that position", commented the Spaniard.

Carlos Sainz, when referring to the annoying complaint from his Asturian friend, shrugged his shoulders. By the look on his face, the Ferrari man reflected that he hadn't even realized it: "Now I don't have it in my head, I think it's from when I defended myself from Hamilton in the restart. I did what I could to stay ahead of Lewis and then Fernando surprised me by joining the battle. Obviously I tried to get as wide as I can be on the track. I think it was a good battle. Well, it is what it is," replied the man from Madrid on Dazn TV .
