Alex Rodriguez a free man! A-Rod, Silicon Valley girlfriend reportedly split up

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Alex Rodriguez might be getting back in the batter's box soon ... the looking-for-love batter's box.

His playing days are over, but the retired Yankees star's player days could be on the verge of ramping up again.

15 women A-Rod has dated

A-Rod reportedly is unattached, and you know what that means:

A single A-Rod usually means a ready to mingle A-Rod!

According to the New York Post, A-Rod recently split up with Silicon Valley billionaire girlfriend Anne Wojcicki after almost a year of dating.

Wojcicki is the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin. At 43, she's two years older than A-Rod, who turns 42 a day before her 44th birthday in late July.

A Post source said, "They were an unusual couple from very different backgrounds, but they are both smart business people and had quite a few things in common, including a fascination with the tech world. But perhaps in the end they were a little too different."

A-Rod's love life was back-page heaven for the New York tabloids during his Yankees days, as he's dated  celebs such as Madonna (2008), Kate Hudson (2009) and Cameron Diaz (2010-11) and Julianne Hough (2013).

Why A-Rod in camp isn't bad thing

A-Rod was with the Yankees for three days this week as a spring training advisor, but according to the Post, he's traveled to Los Angeles to attend Oscar parties this weekend.

He's scheduled to work three more days with the Yankees in mid-March. His first visit included a dinner this past week with several Yankees prospects.
