Time change in Spain: where and how much it will rain this weekend

The weekend will be marked by instability in much of Spain, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). In some points, a cool environment is expected for the season, between 5 and 10 degrees less than normal.

In addition, it will rain in many parts of the country. The agency forecasts stormy showers, especially in the Balearic Islands and in the south and east of the peninsula, although these rains "will not significantly help with the prolonged drought" for months.

The showers of the next few days could be "locally intense" but, in general, it is "scattered rains and of not very long duration, not like those in autumn associated with Atlantic storms", according to the Aemet spokesman, Rubén Of the Field.

For Saturday, moderate rains are expected throughout the extreme north of the Peninsula and showers and storms throughout the Mediterranean area and Andalusia, which could become locally strong in the Levante area and north of Mallorca, the southeast of the peninsula and areas of Andalusia.

Regarding temperatures, Del Campo anticipates that the maximum will drop, with daytime records between 5 and 10 degrees below normal in points of the northeast of the peninsula and the northern half, which, together with the strong winds that will blow from the north , will increase the sensation of cold. In this way, Vitoria and Ávila will barely reach 15 degrees during the day

On Sunday the instability will continue. According to Aemet, showers and storms are likely in the southern half of the peninsula, being locally strong in Andalusia. Nor are they discarded in areas of the northern plateau or in the Central and Iberian and Balearic systems. In the case of Catalonia, they can be locally strong in the northeast.

For that day, a rise in temperatures is expected in the center and northeast of the peninsula, a rise that could be up to 4 or 5 degrees compared to the previous day. However, the cold environment will persist in the north. For example, Burgos will not exceed 13 degrees and Soria and Vitoria will remain at 15 degrees.
