The Aemet warns that the cold front is saying goodbye with wind, snow and rain in these areas

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts that this Monday the passage of an Atlantic frontal system will end that will affect a good part of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, leaving snow, wind and precipitation, which could be locally strong or persistent in the Cantabrian Sea.

Widespread rainfall is expected, more abundant in the Cantabrian Sea, where it may be locally strong or persistent and accompanied by a storm. They can also be accompanied by occasional storms in Girona and, late in the day, in the Balearic Islands. They will ease throughout the day in the center and southern half of the peninsula.

Given this forecast, the agency has activated the yellow warning in Asturias, the Basque Country and Navarra due to accumulated precipitation of up to 40 mm in 12 hours.

The snow level will be in the northwest at 1,000/1,400 meters, dropping to 600/1,000 meters; in the northeast at 1,400/1,800 meters dropping to 1,000/1,200; and in the rest of the Peninsula at 1,400/2,000 meters, dropping to 600/1,000 meters.

Snowfall is expected in the Pyrenees of Huesca-Huesca, the Southwestern Asturias-Asturias, the Central System of Ávila, the Ibérica of Burgos, the Central System of Segovia, the Ibérica of Soria, the Sierra de Madrid or in Cazorla, the Aemet continues in its forecast. At these points, the yellow warning has been activated.

Maximum temperatures will drop noticeably in the interior of the Cantabrian area, as will minimum temperatures, except in the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees where they may rise. They will not exceed 15 degrees in Albacete, Bilbao, Badajoz, Cáceres, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Lugo or Madrid. Frosts are expected in mountainous areas of the Peninsula and nearby areas, moderate in the Pyrenees.

The wind will blow intensely on the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with intervals of strong or very strong gusts on the coasts and mountain areas of the Peninsula, the mountains of the eastern third and the Balearic Islands. Up to 80 kilometers per hour are expected at some points. And warnings have also been activated for coastal phenomena.
