The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) warns of the entry this Wednesday of a new Atlantic front that will affect the northwest half of the peninsula, leaving cloudy or covered skies with precipitation, generally weak, that will advance throughout the day from northwest to southeast. .

The rains will be more intense in Asturias, northwest of Castilla y León and Galicia, with the probability of becoming heavy or persistent in the west of this community, affected by the successive fronts in recent weeks.

In the rest of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, slightly cloudy skies or with intervals of medium and high clouds will predominate. In its forecast, the Aemet points out that morning mists or fogs are not ruled out in areas of the Pyrenees and the mountains of Cáceres and Toledo.

This new Atlantic front will leave strong winds in the Canary Islands and in the north of Galicia, where there will be very strong gusts and persistent rainfall in the western area. Given this forecast, the agency has activated the yellow notice due to significant risk.

Maximum temperatures will tend to increase this Wednesday. They will do so more markedly in the area around the Central and Iberian systems, the extreme north of the peninsula and the midlands of the Canary Islands. The minimums will also recover in the western and central thirds; few changes in the rest of the country. Frost will occur in the main mountain areas, strong on the peaks of the Pyrenees and not ruled out locally on both plateaus.

By the end of the week, the agency speaks of a thermal surge. On Friday and the weekend, stable weather is expected, with rain limited to the northwest of the peninsula and with rising temperatures, although some light frost could once again be recorded in mountain and plateau areas.
