The Aemet warns of temperatures of more than 30 degrees in these areas before the expected decrease

This Wednesday, Spain will experience another day of intense and anomalous heat, with more than 30 degrees in areas of the north, center and south of the peninsula, as well as the Canary Islands. Temperatures will rise on the Cantabrian coast and fall in western Galicia, a large part of the Canary Islands and the Catalan coast, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

It will be hotter in Badajoz (34 degrees); Bilbao, Córdoba, Ourense, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Seville (33); and Cáceres, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Oviedo (32). On the contrary, it will soften especially in Ceuta (25) and Málaga, Melilla, Segovia and Tarragona (26).

The situation in the Canary Islands continues to be especially complicated, where the executive has suspended classes until next Monday due to the high temperatures, unusual for autumn and more typical of summer. The Aemet maintains the yellow warning (risk for outdoor activities) for 34 degrees throughout the Canary archipelago except La Palma, Lanzarote, the peaks of Gran Canaria and the north of Tenerife.

Regarding the state of the sky, in most of the country stable weather will prevail with slightly cloudy or clear skies, although the approach of an Atlantic front will increase high cloudiness in the northwest third of the peninsula throughout the day. At the last minute, it will leave cloudy or overcast skies in the northwest half of Galicia and west of Asturias.

This extraordinary episode of high temperatures and almost total absence of rain, which affects the entire country, will continue without major changes until next Friday, when a "clear" drop in thermometers is expected, especially in the north.

In addition to this drop in temperatures, the passage of a front and the subsequent arrival of low pressures would leave rain in Galicia and other areas of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands during the weekend. In the north, where drops of between 6 and 8 degrees are expected.

However, this decrease will not yet be noticed in the southeast of the peninsula, which will continue to endure abnormal temperatures for the time of year with up to 34 degrees.
