The Aemet warns of a drastic drop in temperatures and rain in these areas

Spain will say goodbye to summer with autumn weather, marked by instability, a sharp drop in temperatures and persistent rainfall in some places. According to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the rains will be intense during the first hours of the day in some areas of the Cantabrian Sea and the Balearic Islands, accompanied by storms in the Strait and mountainous areas of the south and east of Andalusia and in the south of Castilla la Mancha.

Rains are also not ruled out in the area around the Strait and mountainous areas in the south and east of Andalusia and in the south of Castilla-La Mancha, where some showers may fall during the first hours of the day. Daytime cloudiness is expected on the northern plateau and little cloudiness in the rest of the Peninsula, with evolving cloudiness.

The Aemet predicts a significant drop in temperatures for this Friday, except in the Canary Islands, with slight increases. They will not exceed 19 degrees in Bilbao, Burgos, Ávila, Lugo or León, where the minimum will remain at 7 degrees. Isolated frosts in the central Pyrenees are not ruled out either. The exception will once again be in the west of the peninsula, where the maximum temperatures will increase.

Intervals of strong wind are expected on the coasts of the Cantabrian area. It will also blow northwest in the Ebro, north wind in Ampurdán, west wind in the Balearic Islands, and west in the Strait and Alborán. Those wind gusts could be strong. Given this situation, Aemet has activated the yellow notice in the Basque Country, Asturias, Cantabria, Galicia and Andalusia.

The early autumn at the end of summer will give way to the summer of San Miguel. For Saturday, the Aemet predicts a stabilization of the weather, with a predominance of slightly cloudy skies without precipitation. Only in the eastern Cantabrian there will still be weak rainfall, tending to clear during the day. Maximum temperatures will tend to increase across the board, except in the Mediterranean area where they will decrease.

This stability will continue on Sunday and there will be an increase in temperatures throughout the country. The minimums are rising on the Atlantic slope and the Pyrenees, although they will decrease in the Ebro valley and the midlands of the Canary Islands. Maximum temperatures will increase across the board, except in the Mediterranean area with few changes and in the Canary Islands where they may decrease slightly.
