The Aemet activates the first warnings for rain before the arrival of the DANA that will hit Spain

The meteorological autumn begins with the entry of an Atlantic trough that will leave showers or strong storms in Navarra, northern Aragon and surrounding areas, as well as in southern Iberia, under the Ebro and in the Central system, although here they will be less likely, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

In the rest of the Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, slightly cloudy skies with high clouds are expected, although in the afternoon it will increase with evolutionary cloudiness in large areas of the northeastern half of the peninsula, leaving probable scattered showers and storms, more probable and abundant in Navarra, northern Aragon and surrounding areas, where they are expected to reach strong and go with hail.

There will be no change in maximum temperatures. They will remain the same or change slightly and the minimums will rise, according to the forecast of the state agency.

The Atlantic trough will leave an unstable situation, especially in the northwest, a preview of what will be experienced this weekend throughout the country with the arrival of an isolated depression at high levels (DANA).

For Saturday, there will be abundant rainfall with storms in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, which are expected to become strong and persistent in areas of the northeastern third, Levante, southeast, Melilla and western Balearic Islands, without being ruled out in the center and rest of the northeastern half of the peninsula. . Up to 14 communities will be yellow and orange warning for rains of 50 liters per square meter in one hour.

During Sunday, it is likely that the DANA will be centered in the southwest of the peninsula and establish a humid and intense Levante flow, providing humidity of maritime origin and favoring abundant rainfall.

The greatest probability and intensity of the precipitations will possibly be in the east, southeast quadrant and center of the peninsula, where they will be strong or very strong and persistent. Very strong gusts of wind are also expected in these areas. Up to eight communities will have a yellow notice: Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community, the Region of Murcia, Castilla - La Mancha, the Community of Madrid and Melilla.

Throughout the weekend an autumnal environment will predominate, with temperatures below what is usual for these dates in a good part of the peninsula, according to the Aemet predictions.
