On Friday, the Supreme Court overturned Roe V. Wade. This episode may provide insight into the lives of pregnant women in America after Roe v. Wade.

Dr. Diana Greene Foster is the principal researcher of the multidisciplinary team behind The Turnaway Study. We spoke to her. She and her co-researchers followed nearly a thousand women seeking abortion in 21 states for more than a decade. These data show the results of unwanted pregnancies. They also compare the financial, physical and mental consequences of an abortion to that of carrying an unplanned pregnancy to term.
