Mario Picazo predicts where it will rain the most next week in Spain

After experiencing episodes of extreme heat that have left their mark, Spain and other parts of Europe are on the verge of a significant change in their climatic conditions. According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), this turn will take place during the Pilar bridge, marking goodbye to the stifling temperatures and giving way to the long-awaited rainfall.

The beginning of the Pilar bridge has surprised us with lots of sun and moderate temperatures. However, this calm is destined to be short-lived. Shortly, as Mario Picazo has announced, a series of Atlantic storms will advance from the west of the peninsula, bringing with them precipitation that will end up spreading eastward throughout the weekend and even next Monday, October 16.

Specifically, the western peninsula, including areas such as Galicia, Asturias, Castilla y León and Extremadura, are expected to be the first to receive these rains during the holidays. However, as next week progresses, more areas will experience this weather phenomenon.

One of the crucial factors for this trend is the arrival of an atmospheric river from the subtropical Atlantic. This phenomenon, loaded with high doses of water vapor, will intensify the storms that will impact the territory one after another in the coming days. The humid winds from the west and southwest will bring significant amounts of precipitation, particularly in the westernmost regions of the peninsula.

But the rainfall will not come alone. As the meteorologist has announced, a gradual decrease in temperatures is expected over the next week. Although during the first days of the bridge there will still be temperatures above 30 degrees in some areas, especially in the southeast of the peninsula and the Canary Islands, the trend will be towards a cooler climate.

Likewise, tropical nights will continue to be a constant in areas of the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, where suspended dust is still present. However, as the week progresses, a notable thermal reduction is anticipated, more noticeable in western areas but also in interior regions.
