Little rain and more heat than normal: this is the weather forecast for Easter

Mild weather will accompany Holy Week in 2023. According to a first forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), during holidays and rest days there will be a mild atmosphere and temperatures above normal for the time of year, about all in the center and south of the peninsula.

In general, the brotherhoods and devotees will also be able to breathe easy, because too much rain is not expected, although there is still meteorological uncertainty, meteorologists recall, who hope to refine the forecast as the beginning of these designated days approaches.

In this preview, Aemet warns that spring usually "provides surprises in terms of the weather", but the week of April 3-9 does not seem to be "neither too hot nor too cold, but with a mild atmosphere". It will be a time "somewhat warmer than normal for the time of year, but not excessively", and specifically in the center and south of the country, according to the spokesman for Rubén del Campo.

The only rains would come at the start of Holy Week, during the first weekend, Palm Sunday. Del Campo expects very cloudy skies in the northern half for those two days, with precipitation during the first half of the day, although of an isolated nature. In the rest of the country, there will be cloudy skies.

Regarding the temperatures for that first weekend, they will drop significantly in the north eastern third and on Sunday they will drop again in the eastern half. In addition, rainfall will be recorded in the Pyrenean area.

Next week, in the middle of Holy Week, the spokesman expects that temperatures will continue to be higher than normal throughout Spain, although it seems that it will not be as dry, because what the rains could make an "appearance" in Andalusia and areas of I raised.

Regarding rainfall, although "one must necessarily be prudent because in spring it is risky to make forecasts for so many days to come", at first it seems that it will not be a rainy Easter Week in most of the peninsula, but this will have to be confirmed. .

Beyond these designated dates, Spanish meteorologists explain on their Twitter account that "monthly predictions indicate that April, although hotter than normal, will have better behavior in terms of precipitation with respect to the weather."
