Aemet warns: these are the areas that will be affected by the new DANA

The atmospheric instability of recent days, with clouds and rain in large areas of Spain, will give way to more stable weather in almost the entire country during this week, although the approach of a DANA to the southwest is not ruled out, according to the forecast offers the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) on its website.

For this Monday, it is expected that the instability in the Peninsula will tend to decrease, causing less intense and extensive rainfall than in previous days. Even so, at dawn showers and storms are still likely in Catalonia, without ruling out that they will be locally strong on the coast.

In the rest of the Peninsula, cloudy intervals are expected at the beginning of the day, with the possibility of some light rainfall, tending to remain slightly cloudy throughout the day. In the Balearic Islands, cloudy intervals, with the probability of some early morning precipitation.

According to the Aemet forecast, temperatures will tend to decrease, except on the Atlantic side of the peninsula, the Levante coast and the Canary Islands, where they will remain with few changes. The maximum temperatures will once again be especially high in Girona, Murcia, Castellón or Tarragona, where they will reach 30 degrees.

For today, westerly winds are expected in most of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with strong intervals on the Cantabrian coast.

Instability will return on Tuesday with the approach of a DANA to the southwest of the Peninsula. With a margin of uncertainty, the agency explains that "showers and storms are expected to move from Melilla to the south of the peninsula and the southeast quadrant, without ruling out surrounding areas and the west of the Balearic Islands." The rains could be locally strong or persistent in the afternoon and evening in the southeast, without ruling out other areas.

The effects of DANA will be felt again on Wednesday, with probable locally strong showers and storms and hail in the eastern third of the peninsula and the west of the Balearic Islands. It is not ruled out that in the Gulf of Valencia, Pitiusas and Catalunya they are locally very strong or persistent.

The situation will begin to stabilize from Thursday. After the passage of the front, clearings will begin to open from northeast to southeast, although it is likely that occasional showers will continue to occur in Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea, the agency advances on its website.
