HARRISBURG -- Trump's former presidential candidate for the U.S. Senate lost Monday in a custody battle over his three children. This was two weeks after Trump took the stand to refute allegations from his ex-wife that he had hurt them and their children.
A Butler County judge could make Sean Parnell's candidacy less likely in a battleground state, which could impact the outcome of next year's election for control of the U.S. Senate.
James Arner, a judge, stated Monday in a docket entry that Parnell's ex-wife Laurie Snell will have sole legal custody and primary physical custody. Arner stated that Parnell will be granted physical custody three weekends per month.
Arner stated that Snell was "the most credible witness".
Jen Gilliland Vanasdale was Snell's attorney. She said that Snell was grateful for justice. Parnell did not immediately comment.
Parnell, who testified under oath Nov. 8, denied the allegations made by Snell, saying that he had never choked or pinned down her and that he never hit one of their children with a rage.
Snell and Parnell lived apart for at least 3 years. However, they have shared equal custody of their children.
Parnell's relationship with his wife was a topic in the Republican primary campaign. This happened just days after Trump supported Parnell over many other competitors.
