The written legacy of Aless Lequio Phrases, reflections and reactions

For three years, Ana Obregón has had very few days to remember, but this seems to have taken a radical turn since the birth of Ana Sandra, her biological granddaughter. The life of the actress has undergone a mutation and every day is a reason for celebration for someone whose label shines the most is that of mother, above all the surnames that could be given to her after 40 years long career

Yesterday Obregón did what he does every night since his son Aless Lequio died of cancer. He looked to the sky and uttered one of the phrases that the young businessman left them as a legacy: God bless you, Aless (God bless you). She did it with a special sparkle in her eyes, the one that gave off the fact of having published El chico de las musarañas, the book that her son started to write on his computer and that she has completed to fulfill one of her many dreams interrupted

Publishing from Harper Collins is an emotional rollercoaster. A journey through the pain of a mother facing her son's increasingly aggressive illness, and the subsequent tragic outcome. Obregón's account is interrupted in the middle of the book by the original writings of Aless Lequio, who devises a tragicomic waltz in which he explains with irony and scathing his harsh experience, even when he was aware of its end. "I have cancer, but worst of all, I'm afraid", says the businessman in one of his texts. "There was still the last battle, the battle of my life, but I believe that the body is wise and prepares you for everything, even death," reflected another.

Undoubtedly, one of the hardest passages of the publication comes in the final phase of the book, when Ana Obregón confesses that she was about to commit suicide by jumping from the balcony of her apartment: "I lifted one leg, passing the one on the other side, while holding my hands firmly to the railing. I used excessive force with my arms, which kept shaking, and even so I had to hurry so that my sisters and Alessandro, who were crying in the living room, would not notice my absence. Then I prepared to start the same route with the other leg. Very soon we would be together, Aless", he says.

The sudden interruption of Alessandro Lequio knocking on the door and reminding her of Aless' wishes changed the actress's mind. It is Obregón's most devastating confession in the publication, along with other raw and hard reflections with which he traces the course of what were the worst years of his life.

The presenter also explains in the book the moment when Aless uttered one of her greatest wishes: “Mother, father... If something happens to me, remember the sample I left in the New York laboratory. I want to have children when I'm gone. It's my wish." And he made them promise. "It's worth it for me to be like this to see you together", Obregón explains what the young businessman said in one of the last moments of his life.

The rawness of the book contrasts with the cover of the magazine ¡Hola! from yesterday On the cover appears a radiant Ana Obregón, in a white and colorful floral dress. "I used to not sleep crying and now I'm sleepless changing nappies", he expresses in the magazine, which assures that at the end of the month or the beginning of June he will return to Spain to present the book in front of all the media. For his part, Alessandro Lequio appeared again on the set of El programa de Ana Rosa, a Telecinco program for which he collaborates, where he embraced his policy of saying nothing, but this time there was a nuance that attracted attention, when he was questioned to confirm that he likes children. "I like mine", he answered forcefully, and then pointed out that he has been married for 25 years and has another family. Of course, he confirmed that he will buy the book. The written legacy of an Aless Lequio who can separate from his fetish number, 27 (the age at which he died), and embrace this April 19 as the day he saw the light another of his wishes. On March 20, his daughter Ana Sandra was born.
