There is still one last plenary session in the Madrid Assembly, but the anger experienced yesterday on account of the thermal social bonus for vulnerable families from which several regional deputies benefit already guarantees that the electoral campaign on May 28 will start with the engines of both carburizing at maximum revolutions.
The day began with the spokesperson for Más Madrid, and leader of the opposition, Mónica García, apologizing for collecting the same aid for vulnerable families for which the day before she energetically requested the resignation of Ayuso's number two, the regional vice president, Enrique Ossorio , who, despite having declared a heritage close to a million and a half euros, saw how last December 193 euros were credited to his checking account thanks to the fact that he also benefits from the social bonus.
García took to Twitter to demand his resignation without realizing that the aforementioned aid also applies to large families, as is his case. And after acknowledging his mistake, he barely managed to string together a speech in which he claimed to be "studying how to return aid that should not reach those who do not need it" to quickly try to redirect the controversy: "Between Ossorio and I there is a Big difference and it is moral, because Ayuso's number two not only has not apologized, but has insisted that he will ask for all the help he can".
García's attempts were in vain since the fuse had already lit and, furthermore, he was serving up a golden opportunity for Juan Lobato to try to recover the political initiative on the left.
The PSOE-M spokesman, father of three children, exhibited his electricity bill from his seat to demonstrate that the collection of the thermal bonus is not a benefit that is processed "automatically" for large families, but rather that it must be requested. But after the friendly fire that had just hit the flotation zone of Más Madrid, he also sent a message to the right-wing benches for dedicating themselves during the day to "criticizing the little aid" from the central government for, "at night, ask for them all like vampires”.
Contrary to expectations, Vox remained silent trying to tiptoe through the brawl. But the questions from the press forced her spokeswoman, Rocío Monasterio, to admit that she is also a recipient of the electricity bonus. "Not like that of the term", she slipped, despite the fact that this is granted to the beneficiaries of the first.
But there was still more, since the general secretary of the PP in Madrid, Alfonso Serrano, also admitted to benefiting from this aid. And more cases are not ruled out in a regional Chamber in which large families abound in almost all parliamentary groups.
Aware that the controversy will punish her rivals more than herself, Ayuso smiled from her seat attending a show that put the finishing touch on an almost perfect week.
Four days in which the Madrid president has seen the European Prosecutor's Office file the case of masks that splashed her brother, her Health Minister put an end to the doctors' strike, the Provincial Court prosecute the mayoress of Móstoles (PSOE) for prevarication and the leader of the opposition to tie a noose around her neck for rushing into social networks. That is why just yesterday she sent a message to her pupils in which, as El País revealed, she stated: “Today the left is finished (...). kill them”.
