The PSOE asks to withdraw the campaign on a bus with Sánchez characterized as Hitler

The PSOE spokesperson in the Madrid City Council, Reyes Maroto, has sent a letter to the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, to denounce that since yesterday, November 15, a bus chartered by the Hazteoir.org association has been circulating in the capital. which has been labeled with images of Pedro Sánchez dressed as Adolf Hitler.

In the image, Pedro Sánchez has been characterized as the German dictator, with a mustache and uniform, but the armband with the swastika has been replaced by the PSOE logo. The objective of this campaign is for it to move on social networks and for the media to echo it.

Maroto calls the action "gross", but denounces that "the circulation of the vehicle violates the provisions of article 2 of the Outdoor Advertising Ordinance of the Madrid City Council, which prohibits advertising on any type of vehicle or trailer, in circulation or parked, with the exception of that carried out in vehicles intended for public passenger transportation.

The Madrid PSOE criticizes that "it is a private facility for the dissemination of an advertising message."

The statement written by the Madrid PSOE denounces that "the dignity of the acting president of the Government and general secretary of the socialist party is being attacked and injured", since Hitler, leader of the Nazi party, led a totalitarian regime during the Third Reich, which caused the death of 17 million people, including six million Jews and nearly one million Roma people.

Hence, "the advertising of the vehicle must be considered illegal, since it violates the rights recognized in the Spanish Constitution, especially those that refer to articles 14,18 and 20, according to the definition of article 3 of Law 34/1988 of the November 11, general advertising".

Furthermore, the municipal ordinance includes "the immediate, precautionary withdrawal of advertising that violates the principles established in article 3 of law 34/1998, regardless of the sanctioning procedures and other actions processed by the competent bodies in matters of advertising." ".
