The Andalusian Government rules out that the Doñana irrigation law is approved before 28-M

The Junta de Andalucía predicts that the bill that would regularize illegal irrigation in the surroundings of the Doñana National Park, presented by the PP and Vox in the Andalusian Parliament, will not be approved before the next municipal elections on May 28.

Andalusian government sources indicated this Thursday that there is no "slowing down" of the procedures for the proposed law in the autonomous Chamber, although they pointed out that the norm will not be approved until July by the plenary session of the regional Parliament.

The Parliament of Andalusia agreed on April 12 to start the processing of the bill with the support of the PP and Vox, and the rejection of the PSOE, Por Andalucía and Adelante Andalucía, through the urgent procedure.

This May, the appearances of experts will be agreed upon in the Commission for Promotion, Articulation of the Territory and Housing of the Andalusian Parliament, in June the people appearing will speak and in July the initiative could be approved, according to the Board.

This initiative has generated a strong controversy. Even the European Commissioner for the Environment, Virginijus Sinkevicius, has suggested that the rule "could degrade the wetland" and goes "in the opposite direction" to protect Doñana.
