‘Supergirl’ Season 2 EP Teases An Alex, Maggie And Kara-Centric Episode [SPOILERS]

Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) will find themselves at odds with one another in an upcoming Season 2 episode of “Supergirl.”

At a special screening of tonight’s episode of “Supergirl,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that there’s an upcoming installment in which Alex (Chyler Leigh) is in danger, and Kara and Maggie are in conflict with each other regarding how they should rescue the DEO agent.

“[It’s] probably my new favorite episode that [Chyler] doesn’t even know about yet,” Screener quoted Kreisberg as saying. “[It’s] a Kara/Alex/Maggie story … a story about the sister and the girlfriend who both love her, and are debating the best way to save her. It’s a really great story. We’re really excited about it.”

Meanwhile, at the same screening event, Leigh talked about why she thinks a lot of people find Alex’s LGBTQ storyline interesting. “You see so many characters on shows right now, they come in and they’re already established as lesbian, gay, transgender — whatever it is, they’re already in that place,” Leigh said. “[On Alex’s storyline,] this is where you get to see somebody coming to a point where she’s just figuring it out. I think that’s what people have just been really excited about.”

While some viewers are not fans of Alex and Maggie’s relationship, Leigh said that the response to “Sanvers” has generally been great.

“It has been such a wild ride and there has been an overwhelming amount of positive responses,” the 34-year-old actress told TV Insider last month. “I mean, I’ll get little negative comments here and there, but I think that is more from the people who maybe don’t have that acceptance of what our world is today. But I’ve gotten thousands of messages and pictures from people telling me their stories. If this isn’t an amazing opportunity to speak to the heart of humanity as a whole and also touch people individually, I don’t know what is.”

Tonight’s episode of “Supergirl” (Season 2, episode 14), titled “Homecoming,” airs at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
