Plenary session of the PP that the Diputación de Valencia also achieves in the face of the lack of agreement on the left

The Valencian PP will monopolize the institutional power in the Valencian Community this legislature after also achieving the Presidency of the Valencian Provincial Council, the last great institution to be constituted and the only one that the Valencian left had options to maintain after the harsh defeat of 28-M. Finally, there have been no surprises and La Vall Ens Uneix, the independent party led by the former socialist Jorge Rodríguez, has voted for its candidate and has allowed the popular Vicent Mompó to become the next president of the provincial corporation with the support of Vox.

Despite last-minute attempts, the Socialists have not convinced the party of provincial deputy Natalia Enguix, whose vote was decisive in tipping the balance to the left. Nor has the PSPV bowed to the order of this local formation and has not supported Enguix to avoid a right-wing government, as demanded by those close to Rodríguez.

The PP has 13 provincial deputies and Vox two, for the 12 of the PSPV and the three of Compromís. For this reason, the vote of Rodríguez's party, who was president of the Valencia Provincial Council until his indictment in the 'Alqueria case' (he has been acquitted), was and has been decisive.

In the first vote, there was a 15-vote tie between Mompó (PP) and the socialist candidate, Carlos Fernández Bielsa, who had the support of Compromís. Enguix has voted for herself. It was in the second where when the result was repeated, Mompó, being the force with the most votes in the corporation, has won the Presidency.

Before entering the plenary session, Rodríguez had made clear his offer to socialists and Valencianistas: to make Natalia Enguix president until there was a change in the PSPV - read Ximo Puig's departure - at which point Ens Uneix would have no problems cede to the socialist candidate Carlos Fernández Bielsa the baton of the Council of Municipalities.

However, in the PSPV they had suspected for days what could happen and took for granted a hidden pact between Ens Uneix and the PP to, in counterpart to the vote this Friday, water La Vall d'Albaida with investments.

After the vote, in the turn of interventions, both the spokesperson for Compromís Dolors Gimeno, and the failed candidate, Carlos Fernández Bielsa, have charged against Ens Uneix for handing over the Provincial Council to the right and the extreme right. Bielsa has described it as a "historical error attributable only to one party" and an "unforgivable" decision that will haunt them "forever". Gimeno has said that this formation of regional implantation will have to give explanations to its voters. Both have apologized for not being able to agree. "The fight against passions is a very complex battle", indicated Bielsa.

For his part, the already president of the Provincial Council, Vicent Mompó, wanted to thank Rodríguez for "accepting the late apologies" (the PP asked for jail for the mayor of Ontinyent) and indicated that "the pain" that has happened Jorge Rdodríguez after his imputation "nobody deserves it." For Mompó, Ens Uneix has given "a lesson in honesty."
