Participation drops slightly in the regional ones and rises in the local Valencian ones

Despite the rain, electoral participation in the Valencian Community does not seem to suffer. At 2:00 p.m., according to the data provided by the Generalitat, 1,572,684 Valencians had exercised their right to vote, 43.68% of the census. A figure that is 0.56% less than that registered in 2019, when the regional elections coincided with the general ones and the turnout at the polls shot up to 73.7%.

A good example of this participation data are the figures registered in the local elections that are held in the next ballot box. The participation in the elections of this Sunday stands, at 2:00 p.m., at 42.93% (5.18% than in 2019). A figure that, after that of La Rioja (43.73%), is the highest in all of Spain. The Spanish average in the municipal ones remains at 35.97%.

Some data that show the importance of these elections in which, in addition to being at stake, the distribution of the 99 that will make up the Corts this XI legislature, will decide the color of the 541 municipalities that exist in the Valencian Community.

The main candidates for the Presidency of the Generalitat had already voted first thing in the morning, calling precisely for a large turnout.
