After the announcement on Saturday that Chenoa will be the presenter of the new stage of Operacion Triunfo on Amazon Prime Video, the platform revealed yesterday during a meeting with the media new details of this expected return, such as that Noemí Galera and Manu Guix will reprise their roles as director of the academy and musical director, respectively, as will vocal technique teacher Mamen Márquez and choreographer Vicky Gómez.
Castings for this new edition of OT (the twelfth), which will premiere at the end of the year, will take place between July 3 in Barcelona and September 19 in Madrid, and will pass through seven other cities. On the other hand, OT Cover , the preselection initiative for castings through social networks that started in 2017, will also be available this year. Applicants will be able to post a 45-second a cappella song for a chance to be pre-selected and skip the line at castings.
The new season of OT will be the first weekly live content to premiere on Prime Video in Spain. The musical talent contest will continue to feature a gala every week with a live audience from the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya, in Terrassa. The galas will last 90 minutes, "something that the fans asked us for and we will give it to them. We want the whole part of the gala to be focused only on the music and on who is leaving or who is staying", said Tinet Rubira, director of Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia).
Each gala will be followed by a post-gala in which an as-yet-unnamed host will talk to the contestants and teachers, and will feature exclusive content. In addition, a daily magazine will be launched in which the best moments of the day will be offered and the key moments of the week will be analyzed, such as the distribution of topics, the rehearsals, the passing of microphones and the coexistence of the contestants. OT will offer more than 80 hours of entertainment that will be added to the 24-hour live channel via YouTube.
Chenoa will be at the head of the format in place of Roberto Leal. The winner of the first edition thus closes a circle in her life.
