King Felipe will represent Spain at the inauguration of the new elected president of Argentina, the far-right Javier Milei, on December 10 in Buenos Aires, so he will travel to the Argentine capital the day before.

On November 20, the La Libertad Avanza candidate swept the second round of the elections with 55.69% of the votes, defeating the official candidate, Sergio Massa, who obtained 44.3%.

The head of state represents Spain at the inaugurations of Ibero-American Presidents, a task that Felipe has been assuming since 1996 as Prince of Asturias.

Thus, Felipe VI made more than a hundred visits to different Latin American countries, often to attend inaugurations. The last one was on August 15 in Asunción (Paraguay) for the inauguration of Santiago Peña, and on January 1 of this year he attended the inauguration of Luiz Inazio Lula da Silva. In 2022 he traveled to Costa Rica for the inauguration of Rodrigo Chaves; to Chile, for that of Gabriel Boric, and to Colombia, for that of Gustavo Petro.
