Junts per Catalunya is studying what legal actions it can take in relation to the Catalonia operation and the information that has appeared in recent weeks, after a judge opened an investigation after the lawsuit filed by former Barça president Sandro Rosell.

The party leadership has agreed at the meeting on Monday to "take legal action" to "try to clarify one of the most serious episodes of the dirty war against the independence movement." "This scandal would have had consequences in any democracy," the group's spokesman and vice president, Josep Rius, said at a press conference. "We are studying all legal avenues to take legal action and prevent it from coming to nothing," he added.

The JxCat spokesman regretted that "an attempt was made to liquidate political careers such as those of Artur Mas and Xavier Trias and to alter electoral results." "Justice has to go to the bottom to clarify the responsibilities and find out who allowed this operation, which goes beyond a corrupt commissioner [José Manuel Villarejo] and an uncontrolled minister [Jorge Fernández Díaz]."

"The Catalonia operation is the Gal of the PP, and we want to know who Mr. X was. We know that Fernández Díaz does not go it alone," concluded Rius, who has indicated that they will also work in the congressional investigation commission on this matter.

The creation of said commission was approved in September but until just a few days ago, when information related to the Catalonia operation appeared again, it had not been constituted nor had the works been activated. Regarding the change in the PSOE, which has now unblocked the commission, Rius has indicated that the Socialists "want to wear down the PP and distract public opinion from other open corruption cases", such as the Mediator case. "We are not facing a ratification but an interested green light. But the PSOE has a lot to say in this dirty war against the independence movement, first by putting itself in profile, but also by espionage with Pegasus", Rius has sentenced.
