Feijóo got 144,000 fewer votes than Ayuso in Madrid compared to 28-M

There is only one Ayuso, and this was verified yesterday by Feijóo who, despite having the explicit support of the president of the Community of Madrid in his campaign, left 144,000 votes between 28-M and 23-J.

A good take out of ballot papers that would have guaranteed him a few more seats than those finally harvested by the PP candidate for the presidency of the Government in the region that sends the most deputies to Congress.

The PP longed to repeat the absolute majority achieved by the Ayuso-Almeida tandem on March 28 and had to settle for just over 40%. A downturn that the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, knew how to take advantage of, who, with 27.91% of the votes cast, was 12 points behind 40.38% of the PP. Nothing to do with the 29 points that Ayuso (PP) took from Juan Lobato (PSOE) less than two months ago.

But Feijóo did not need to stop to study the count data to become aware of the situation. The half a thousand PP supporters who gathered last night in front of the headquarters on Calle de Génova interrupted Feijóo's speech on a couple of occasions to chant the name of the president of the Community to the cry of "Help, president!" to the manifest discomfort of both protagonists.

Comparing the results in the capital, Feijóo also loses out, although by less, remaining only 8,600 votes behind those obtained by the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida.

The key to the socialist recovery is once again in the historic red belt where the PSOE was once again the most voted force in Leganés, Parla, Getafe and Fuenlabrada.
