The president of Esquerra Republicana, Oriol Junqueras, assured yesterday at the press conference in which he presented the agreement reached between his party and the PSOE that the figure of a mediator or verifier of the dialogue between both actors had been agreed upon, a figure of " recognized prestige," said the Republican leader.
In the republican formation they assure today that the socialists have already accepted two proposals made by Junqueras' party. These are internationally recognized institutions, according to sources from the republican formation.
In any case, these verifiers would not be for the dialogue table between governments that socialists and republicans agreed on in the previous legislature, but for the conversations between the two political organizations.
In the document signed yesterday in a hotel in Barcelona by the acting Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, it is established that "a prestigious person" will act as a "verifier" of compliance with the agreements between the parties, with the aim of ensuring that the proposals reach the "table of dialogue, negotiation and agreement" have a "constant" pace of work and an "optimal" degree of debate and political commitment.
"In parallel to the Table, a negotiation space will be created between both parties that has a mechanism that has the functions of accompanying, verifying and monitoring the entire negotiation process and the agreements reached, with so that the proposals that reach the Dialogue, Negotiation and Agreement Table have a constant pace of work and an optimal degree of debate and political commitment and can be implemented during the current legislature. For these purposes, a common agreement will be designated to a person of recognized prestige to carry out said tasks," the agreement states.
For this parallel forum, ERC plans to appoint the same people who already negotiate at the dialogue table between governments.
