ERC assures that the amnesty agreed with the PSOE will include all those retaliated against "without exceptions"

Esquerra Republicana has assured this Wednesday that the agreement reached last night with the PSOE for the amnesty will provide coverage for "all politically retaliated persons with criminal, civil, accounting and administrative cases" related to the process "without exceptions."

This was stated by the party in a statement in which it evaluated "with satisfaction" the agreement that allows the negotiation to be channeled towards an eventual investiture, after the call between the acting president of the Government and candidate for re-election, Pedro Sánchez. , and the president of the Generalitat and national coordinator of Esquerra Republicana, Pere Aragonès.

The call between the two presidents, lasting about 15 minutes, was the culmination of a marathon day of more than 13 hours of meetings in Madrid with connections to Barcelona and Geneva, in which the Secretary General Marta was key, on the part of Esquerra Rovira, the president of the National Council, Josep Maria Jové, and the Deputy Secretary General for Rights, Freedoms and Anti-Repressive Struggle, Marta Vilaret, with the aim of closing the amnesty file after weeks of negotiating it.

The Republicans celebrate today the understanding in the amnesty folder, a law that will include - they insist - "all those who have been retaliated against in causes related to the process of national emancipation of Catalonia, whether criminal, civil, accounting or administrative, without exceptions." ".

This "without exceptions" would mean, although it is not explicit in the statement, that both the alleged leaders of Tsunami Democràtic, the platform that led the post-sentence protests of the process, investigated for terrorism, and the members of the CDR accused of terrorism detained in the Operation Judas would benefit from the measure. Initially, the PSOE was not willing for the amnesty to cover those accused of terrorism due to the seriousness of said crimes, but both Esquerra and the Government have warned this week that they would not give their approval if they were not included.

It so happens that some of the supposed leaders of Tsunami are from the Republican environment. In fact, the Civil Guard placed Marta Rovira at the head of the platform, which is why the leader has for the moment ruled out her return to Catalonia, despite, according to judicial sources, she not being judicially charged. ERC deputy Ruben Wagensberg is in the same situation.

It is worth remembering that the case remains in the National Court because the investigating judge Manuel García Castellón recently accepted the appearance of Vox and the association of victims of terrorism Dignity and Justice who demand the accusation of terrorism after the Prosecutor's Office, until then the only one party, was in favor of accusing those involved only of public disorder, which if it had occurred would have referred the investigation to the courts of Barcelona.

On the other hand, Esquerra celebrates that with the amnesty agreement the negotiations for "an eventual broad agreement to progress on the key lines" established by the party to support Sánchez's investiture, that is, the resolution of the political conflict in Catalonia, are unblocked. with the Spanish State and the social well-being of the people, which includes the comprehensive transfer of Rodalies and correcting the fiscal deficit.

In the absence of a definitive agreement on the amnesty law between the PSOE and Junts, which would allow the bill to be immediately registered in Congress, Oriol Junqueras' party emphasizes that it has been its "negotiating strategy initiated in recent years" that has made it possible to address a law that, in his opinion, is "a necessary step, the starting point, for a new negotiating phase that must address the resolution of the political conflict between Catalonia and Spain, after years of a general repressive case against the independence".

However, the PSOE hopes to close all aspects of the negotiation with its possible partners, in particular Junts, in the coming hours or days with the intention of achieving the investiture of Pedro Sánchez throughout next week in a single vote. by absolute majority.

In this regard, Jaume Asens, one of Sumar's negotiators, assured this morning on Catalunya Ràdio that there is "5%" left to close the agreement between the PSOE and Junts on the amnesty and that the elements that separate the PSOE and Junts " They are minor and secondary." "We agree on 95% of the text," insisted Asens, who has warned that the next few hours are "key" and is confident that the pact can be closed "in the next few hours or days."

In the event that there is an agreement in the next few hours or days, Junts plans to consult its members for their opinion on it, in accordance with the party's statutes.
