It was something of a new year's eve-transferbombe, Borussia Dortmund detonated on Sunday as the German bundesliga club announced that it has purchased the Erling Braut Haaland in Salzburg.
The målfarlige Norwegian was chased prey in several of Europe's biggest clubs, and it was a public secret that Manchester United and the club's Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær, was at the front of the field of suitors.
But when Haaland and Dortmund announced the agreement, went over the media, almost simultaneously out and wrote that Manchester United pulled out feelers to themselves because of personal requirements in nordmandens contract. Read more about it HERE.
It has now been Haalands agent, the famous and the infamous Mino Raiola, to respond.
To the reputable british newspaper The Telegraph says superagenten, that the stories of Haalands personal requirements do not match with reality, and that Manchester United really just trying to avoid losing face in public.
- I do not know whether it is Manchester United who spreads these rumors, but if they do, then is it solely to save face. I find that strange and disappointing, says Mino Raiola to The Telegraph and continuing.
the Club, which was the most in contact with us, was Manchester United. They talked the most with Erling. All had the chance to speak with him face to face. We let it happen, because he particularly knows the Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
But Erling felt in no way that United was the right step in his career. It has nothing to do with the fact that you have something against Manchester United or Ole Gunnar Solskjær, says Mino Raiola, who strongly stresses that the Haalands choice is solely on a choice of Dortmund.

- He chose Dortmund ahead of the other clubs, and I am very pleased on his behalf, for he changes to the club, he wanted to switch to, and which is best for him right now.
- If he had wanted to switch to Manchester United, then I would be obliged to procure him the transfer, but he did not. It was not about the economy, but about a player who would choose Dortmund at this stage of his career, says Mino Raiola.
Erling Braut Haaland has signed a contract until the summer of 2024 with Borussia Dortmund.
