Now respond Astana on the allegations

There was a puff through the Danish cycling as a sport, as DR, Politiken and Norwegian VG Sunday night could tell that Jakob Fuglsang last year was examined in order to have had a connection to the infamous dopinglænge Michele Ferrari.

Neither Fuglsang or his Kazakh team Astana would answer questions from the three media, but now have Astana broken radiotavsheden to belgian Het Niewsblad.

We were called up on Tuesday by Danish and Norwegian journalists, who apparently had access to the file. They asked for a response, but because the file contains no facts or proof, but only allegations and rumors, we do not want to answer.

- We have not heard from UCI or CADF since Tuesday's call, so I can't see why we should respond, says Sven Jonker, who is the press secretary of Astana.

the Story goes that Fuglsang has been the subject of a secret investigation by the cycling independent anti-dopingenhed, Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation (CADF).

DR, Politiken and VG have come into possession of the report, which among other things says:

'Intelligence indicates that Astana Pro Team cyclist Jakob Fuglsang is in the Michele Ferraris dopingprogram, and teammate Alexey Lutsenko was present during at least one meeting between the two in the Nice/Monaco.'

As Astana explains, as presented, however, no clear evidence for the connection, and that is why The International Cykelunion (UCI) not been presented for the report.

According to Sven Jonker comes there also no official announcement from Astana - besides, he himself has come up with.

- Our lawyers are investigating the matter - dated the summer of 2019 - but as long as there is not published any facts, we see no reason to make an official announcement, says Sven Jonker, according to Het Niewsblad.

He also says that Jakob Fuglsang will continue its training camp in Tenerife, among others, Alexey Lutsenko, in spite of the whirlwind.

- We see no reason to suddenly stop altitude training. We continue with our original plan, he says.

It has not been possible to take Jakob Fuglsang for a comment.
