Love the call from the auction house: You can sit on a fortune without having to feel it!

A painting of kinesiskfødte Xie 'Lalan' Jinglan (1921-1995) is put up for sale at this autumn's Traditional Auction at Bruun Rasmussen.

the Assessment is for a half a million dollars, and much to suggest that several paintings by the artist are living a quiet existence in the private Danish home.

the Former is a painting, as a dane, bought through an art club for just 3,000 kroner, has been sold for around 1.5 million.

- We know that the Gallery Modern, Silkeborg held a solo exhibition with Lalan in 1971, back then few people had heard of her. No one knows exactly how many works she exhibited, or who bought them. But a good guess is that she exhibited 15-20 paintings, and that many of them were subsequently sold through art societies, says head of Bruun Rasmussen's department of modern art, Niels Raben.

Lalans painting 'La lune était bleue' ('the Moon was blue') must under the hammer at Bruun Rasmussen on 24. september. The assessment sounds of 500,000 crowns. Photo: Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers of fine art

today, 50 years after, there is very high international demand on Lalans works, so you can actually sit on a fortune without having to feel it, saith the auktionshusel, that tells, that an owner of a Lalan-painting previously have earned a fortune.

In the spring appeared a of Lalans works up to a Bruun Rasmussen vurderingsarrangement in Silkeborg, denmark.

the Owner had originally paid 3,000 kroner for it through an art club and ended up selling at auction for 1.5 million dollars.

the Holder of the painting, which now comes under the hammer at Bruun Rasmussen 24. september, it seemed that the two works reminded so much about each other, that he hastened to contact Bruun Rasmussen.
