Danish theatre with millionunderskud: Fire every fourth employee

Fredericia Theatre, has just taken leave of 18 employees.

It happens after a large millionunderskud in 2019 in the region of 20 million kroner. It writes Fredericia Dagblad.

the Deficit comes largely because of a poor ticket.

the Theatre had in 2019 two storsatninger in the form of the performances 'Prince of Egypt' and 'Tarzan', but here lived the ticket sales not up to expectations, despite the fact that the former performance was performed at The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen.

Chairman of the board, Gitte Lillelund Bech. recognises that in the management has been too naive, since there was placed the budget for 2019.

- the Deficit will be in the region of 20 million crowns by 2019. The reason is that ticket sales have not lived up to expectations. I note that the board of directors and the executive management have been too optimistic when they put budget. We are now going to have to cut quite to the bone at the theater.

There are 12 permanent staff and six part-time workers, who now lose the job.
