It is becoming increasingly rare, we see the danes on the large, influential positions in international football.
Now 56-year-old Keld Bordinggaard scored a big post in one of the european best clubs.
Champions League club Bayer Leverkusen has thus hired dane as a technical advisor.
- I am employed in a role as advisor to the sports director Simon Rolfes. The advice relates to both strategic and fodboldfaglige questions, says Keld Bordinggaard for Extra Magazine.
He has a long history as a toptræner. Both as an assistant to Morten Olsen in the beginning of this millennium as well as the U21-team coach and assistant for Kasper Hjulmand, as they were in Mainz from summer 2014 to February 2015.

Keld Bordinggaard started a few years ago the company Bordinggaard Football, where he advises football clubs. Links to Bayer Leverkusen was created in 2017, when he met the club's current sports director Simon Rolfes in connection with the UEFA a master's degree, such as 75 former top players around the world now have implemented.
- My job covers both strategic advice and technical advice. It is, among other things, what happens with the game development? What Leverkusen do to defend the position as a Champions League club in three to five years? What should the club change and adapt in order to still develop?
- For me it is stimulating and very inspiring to work with a club at Champions League level, explains Keld Bordinggaard.
the Cooperation with Bayer Leverkusen means that the 56-year-old dane at least once a month in Germany, to present its analyses and to discuss any actions of the club.
Simon Rolfes was appointed as the sports director at Bayer Leverkusen 1. december of last year. And with the knowledge of the dane's strategic and fodboldfaglige skills the partnership was relatively quickly established.
- We have started a very successful collaboration with Keld Bordinggaard, and we are pleased that he will be the club's technical adviser. It is important that we work with insightful and professional partners in european football. To this category belong Keld. And it is the reason that I collaborate with him, says Simon Rolfes, the sports director at Bayer Leverkusen, to Ekstra Bladet.
Keld Bordinggaard is already associated with Vejle in a konsulentrolle. He is faced with the responsibility for the whole of the club's talent development programme. He has thus also responsible for the development of the club's coaches at the oldest youth.
Keld Bordinggaard is initially employed on a contract that runs until the summer of 2021 in Bayer Leverkusen.
