DSB writes the value of the train for over one and a half billion

the Large write-downs of the DSB's remote and regional services provides in 2019 the company with a deficit of 1.6 billion dollars.

Adjusted for write-downs and other items of non-recurring items, DSB a profit of 84 million dollars. It is apparent from DSB's latest annual accounts.

The value is assessed on the basis of expected future earnings.

The growth forecasts, which lay at the basis of the DSB's trafikkontrakt with the state, however, has not been able to be redeemed. There is, therefore, a re-assessment of the value of the trains, which are written down with a little over 1.5 billion dollars.

- There is also made an assessment of how many IC4 trains there is a need for new electric trains will be phased in.

This has given rise to the 11 IC4 trainset is taken out of operation and in consequence is reported, with 151 million dollars, informs the DSB.

Overall, DSB's remote and regional trains thus been reduced by almost 1.7 billion crowns.

The 84 million dollars, which the DSB has earned adjusted for the exceptional circumstances, is equivalent to approximately a third of the profits of 247 million the year before.

The lower result is mainly due to falling passageromsætning, lower trafikkontraktbetaling, increased costs for spare parts for the ageing trains and the rising energy prices.
