Awesome Rønnow-new: Now is he the first choice

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp was injured in the weekend's bundesligakamp out against Union Berlin, and it means that Frederik Rønnow can look forward to real-time in the club.

Trapp has been the first choice in Frankfurt in the whole of last season and at the beginning of this, so Rønnow has not gotten much playing time since the switch from Brondby in the summer of 2018.

Frankfurt informs that the 29-year-old Trapp is skulderskadet and had to be operated. The club expects that he is out in the rest of the year.

- It is not good news for Kevin and for us. We wish him a speedy recovery, and we are sure that he returns stronger back.

- We have full confidence to Frederik Rønnow, which certainly will be a good replacement, said Frankfurt sports director Bruno Hübner according to kicker.de.

Rønnow was on Monday selected for the Danish national team, which will meet Switzerland in the european championship qualifying, and Luxembourg in an alternate.
