Renfe extends the Friendly Transport Service with dogs up to 40 kilos to the Madrid-València route. The service will be provided daily on two direct AVE trains in each direction, between Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor and València Joaquín Sorolla, except on Saturdays, which will be on one train in each direction. The offer will begin on June 26 and tickets are already available for sale on the renfe.com website.

Since the Large Pet Project began on September 13, Renfe has transported 800 large dogs on its AVE trains, which reflects the importance for passengers of being able to travel with their pets, as reported by the company in a statement.

From the data extracted from the study, it can be seen that customers who travel with dogs do so mainly on weekends and on vacation.

Renfe allows you to travel with one “big” dog per traveler, with a maximum of two “big” dogs per train, in a single car and always in a fixed space of two determined seats. This premise does not condition the number of pets weighing less than 10 kilos that travel in a carrier on the train.

As a novelty, guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits will be incorporated shortly, thus reinforcing Renfe’s commitment to the journey of companion animals.

For the development of the Mascota Grande Project, Renfe has had the support and advice of Nestlé Purina, thanks to the agreement signed between both entities. So that dogs and the rest of the passengers can travel on board the trains in the most pleasant way, there is a travel guide with good practices.
