Robert De Niro will be one of the leading names of the last months of 2023. The veteran North American actor will be present tomorrow, Friday, at the cinema box office, with the premiere of his latest film: The Moon Killers. Together with Leonardo DiCaprio and the direction of Martin Scorsese, the story of the crimes on the Osage tribal reservation aims to become a favorite in the Oscar race.

Beyond his tenth collaboration with the Queens filmmaker, an issue called fatherhood also occupies the performer’s thoughts. It was at the beginning of May when he revealed to ET Canada that he had become a father for the seventh time, with his current partner Tiffany Chen. Now, in an interview for the British newspaper The Guardian, de Niro has opened up about being a father at this age, stating that “there is nothing easier.”

“It is what it is. Alright. That is to say, I am not in charge of the hardest part. I’m there, supporting my girlfriend. But she is the one who does the work. And we have help, which is very important,” said the New York actor. Despite these statements, he claims to be enjoying everything that comes with being a father, having many years and children behind him. “With a baby it is different than with my 11-year-old son. And my adult children. My grandchildren. Everything is different”.

Some differences that were evident, mainly, when speaking. Robert De Niro has seven children, and he makes it clear that he does not speak the same way to his eldest child, the 11-year-old boy or the newborn baby, despite being “quite intelligent,” in the words of he. The differences become clear once all the members of the De Niro family are put in order: the newborn Gia has been with her older sister, Drena, for more than half a century.

Of all the veteran actor’s children, Drena was the first to arrive, in 1971. Currently, she is 51 years old. She is followed by her brother Raphael, 46, both children of Diahnne Abbott, his first wife; twins Julian and Aaron, 27, with actress and model Toukie Smith; and Eric, 24, and Helen Grace, 11, with Grace Hightower. Little Gia joined the group almost half a year ago, despite the complications her mother suffered during her birth.

In an interview with CBS’ This Morning, Tiffany Chen confessed to having been diagnosed with a rare condition after losing all facial functions during childbirth. This is an idiopathic peripheral facial paralysis, also known as Bell’s palsy. “My tongue felt strange, tingly and numb. I noticed his face was strange, as if everything was rushing in on itself. It’s like it’s falling apart,” she said.
