The controversial Andrew Tate is released from prison and reiterates that he is innocent

Controversial influencer and former boxer Andrew Tate, known for his misogynistic comments and hate speech, has been released from jail in Romania to be placed under house arrest following an appeals court decision to annul the petitioners' request. prosecutors to keep him jailed until the end of April.

Both Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who were arrested late last year, have been placed under house arrest until the end of April, when they await a new prosecution hearing to determine whether they should remain under arrest, return to jail or if they are released. The Prosecutor's Office is investigating whether the two brothers, together with two Romanian citizens, constituted an organized criminal group in which they recruited, housed and forced women to create materials with pornographic content for their subsequent distribution.

Tate's lawyer, Eugen Vidineac, has explained that the brothers have been prohibited from contacting witnesses and from leaving the house without the approval of the authorities. "I really believe that justice will be done in the end, there is zero percent chance that I will be found guilty of something that I have not done, I maintain my absolute innocence," Tate has assured the followers gathered in front of his home. In addition, the former British-American wrestler has shared a video on social networks in which he is seen walking and smoking in his living room.

Earlier this week, the same Bucharest appeals court rejected the two brothers' request for bail. In previous rulings extending his jail stay, judges argued that he was a flight risk and that his release could jeopardize the investigation.

The Prosecutor's Office, which has until the end of June to send those arrested to trial, suspects that the alleged criminal organization deceived women in the United States and the United Kingdom to take them to Romania, faking loving reciprocity and promising a marriage relationship. Once the victims reached their destination, they were held in a mansion in Bucharest and forced to produce pornographic content for distribution on social networks, an illegal activity that generated great benefits for the organization.

The victims have told the authorities that video studios had been installed in the building, protected by armed guards, while they were forced to tattoo themselves "owned by Tate" (property of Tate). Six victims have been identified so far, while the Romanian authorities have confiscated the brothers' assets, including real estate and luxury cars.

The former boxer, who has mainly resided in Romania since 2017, describes himself as a misogynist who has amassed millions of followers, particularly among young men attracted to his hypermacho image.
