The price of electricity in the wholesale market -which serves as a reference to the regulated tariff or PVPC- will fall this Thursday by 17%, to 83.84 euros/megawatt hour (MWh), which will add its third consecutive session to the decrease, according to the result of the last auction.

According to the information consulted by EFE, the so-called "Iberian exception" or cap on gas will not be applied tomorrow either, since the price of this raw material on the Iberian Gas Market (Mibgas) remains below the limit of 55 euros/ MWh set by the Government for this month.

By time slots, electricity will reach its highest price between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., when the MWh will be paid at 122.61 euros, while the lowest will be between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. hours, at 42.06 euros.

After this new setback, the price will be around 63% below the levels of the fourth Thursday of last year, when it touched 226 euros/MWh.

Outside of Spain, stability returns to settle in the Old Continent, where Italy will pay an average of 142.51 euros per MWh; United Kingdom, at 87.64 pounds (about 100 euros at the current exchange rate); France, at 81.42 euros, and Germany, at 74.71 euros.

While in Portugal, a country that shares a market - and an "Iberian exception" - with Spain, the pool auction has set a price of 84.12 euros/MWh.
