The Government is organizing the 'Equality in Game' conference to advance the promotion of women's sport

The Government will organize the next April 26, 27 and 28 congress 'La Igualtat en Joc' with which it is expected to contribute knowledge, interaction and learning to promote women's sport in Catalonia. This year, experts in the field of gender and sports of recognized Catalan, national and international prestige will reflect on the challenges and tools necessary to guarantee equal opportunities in access and sports practice.

The congress, organized by the INEFC in charge of the General Secretariat of l'Esport and Physical Activity, with the coordination of the Departments of the Presidency and of Equality and Feminism, intends to be a turning point on the way to increase visibility and recognition to women's sport. In addition, it is celebrated in a context of feminist transformation that is lived in the streets, in the Government, schools and, also, in the world of sports.

Given the importance that sport plays in the social sphere, the Generalitat promotes the congress to encompass the support actions, both economic and visibility, that the Catalan executive is carrying out to favor the growth and promotion of women's sport in all facets and fields.

The contents and meeting spaces are structured in three main axes: the public sector, the associative sector and the commercial and communication sector. Around each one of them, a program has been prepared in which there will be presentations, dialogues, workshops and spaces for interaction.

The conclusions drawn from all the activities that will be held during the three days that the congress lasts will be used to prepare a White Paper that includes the work carried out in support of women's sport and to define new actions to improve and promote it.

The meeting will begin on April 26 at 3pm with the opening ceremony, chaired by the Minister of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà i Pons, the president of the Catalan Women's Institute, Meritxell Benedí y Altés, the general secretary of Sport and the 'Physical Activity, Anna Caula i Paretas and the director of INEFC, Eduard Inglés Yuba.

The congress is structured in a daily initial presentation by a prominent personality in the field of women's sports, various exhibitions in dialogue format that take place in parallel, as well as practical workshops that will revolve around equality in different fields of sport. In addition, there will be two sessions dedicated to the presentation of oral communications and experiences and a round table in which well-known athletes will participate.

All the information about the program, the presentations, the dialogues and the rest of the activities can be found on the Congress page. There you can also consult the necessary material for dissemination, such as the promotional video, and the activity has its own social networks, Instagram and Twitter, to follow the relevant information and the day-to-day activities of the congress.
