CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Fast-moving thunderstorms were moving into Northeast Ohio, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a severe thunderstorm warning early Wednesday morning.
The warning is in effect until 2:15 a.m. for Ashland, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Summit and Wayne counties.
The Weather Service says wind gusts are hitting 70 mph in the storms and that quarter-size hail is possible. The hail is large enough that it could damage vehicles.
Wind damage is possible for trees, as well as mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings.
