An agent of the Mossos d'esquadra has been arrested accused of sexually assaulting a disabled woman. As La Vanguardia has learned, members of the General Commission for Internal Investigation and Disciplinary Affairs carried out the arrest at the agent's home, this Tuesday, in the municipality of Masquefa.
The person arrested is a low-level officer from the L'Hospitalet police station. He is charged with a crime of sexual assault for alleged touching the victim's breasts and genitals. The woman, in her 30s, and who suffers from a mental disability, filed the complaint on Monday and the arrest was made on Tuesday, as officially confirmed by the Mossos d'Esquadra.
The 45-year-old detainee has spent the night in a cell at the Les Corts police station and will be made available tomorrow to the judge who will have to decide whether to enter prison or order his release.
On Friday the woman had reported that a neighbor had assaulted her and had been assisted by this Mossos agent. According to the complaint, on Monday, when the agent finished his work shift, he went to the victim's home to inquire about her condition and that is where the events allegedly occurred.
The Mossos d'Esquadra, as established by the protocol, have activated the mechanisms for attention and monitoring of the victim.
