Kendall Circuit Clerk pleads guilty to battery against employee

Kendall County Circuit Clerk Robyn Ingemunson pleaded guilty Monday afternoon to battery, a Class A misdemeanor, in connection with a charge that she pushed a female employee of her office in the head at the county chiefs of police Christmas party in December.

The woman, who is her married to Ingemunson's ex-husband, was not present at the hearing Monday.

After Ingemunson submitted her guilty plea, she requested an immediate sentencing hearing.

DeKalb County Judge William Brady, who traveled to Kendall County's courthouse to preside over the case, sentenced Ingemunson to 18 months of supervision, along with fines and costs, an order of no abusive contact with the woman she pushed, and the agreement that she appear in court in Sycamore in six months for a compliance hearing. He did not order drug and alcohol evaluation or community service, which the prosecution had requested.

While attending the Christmas party at a Yorkville restaurant, Ingemunson was talking to another woman and became upset, according to police reports. With an open hand, Ingemunson is accused of pushing the side of the other woman's head once, according to police reports. The other woman did not sustain any injuries, according to police reports.

Ingemunson and her lawyer, Lisa Accardi, declined to comment after the sentencing Monday. Assistant State's Attorney Ryan Phelps, who prosecuted the case, deferred questions to State's Attorney Eric Weis.
