As reported by the Ministry of Education, the fire forced the suspension of classes in six municipalities: Ador, Villalonga, Terrateig, Palma de Gandia, Potries and La Font d'en Carròs.

The wind storm, for its part, has caused the suspension of classes in Turís, Godelleta, Chiva, Buñol, Alborache, Alcántera del Xúquer and Macastre.

We are waiting to have information on the suspended classes in the provinces of Alicante and Castellón.

This Thursday it was announced that classes would be suspended at the La Salle School in Alcoi and at the San Luis de Buñol Early Childhood and Primary Education Center (CEIP), due to the damage caused by the strong gusts of wind.

The mayor of Buñol, Virginia Sanz, explained to EFETV that although the closure of educational centers is a "quite unpopular and difficult decision to make", she has been clear about it, seeing how it developed yesterday and the alerts in force for this Friday.

"There is no need to take risks, it is unnecessary," he defended, and pointed out that Buñol is a town that suffers a lot from the wind and believes that the decision taken has been "the right one," since there is no need to make the children go outside. for a day of class.

"We avoid risk and guarantee safety. It is our role to ensure this," said Sanz, who is confident that classes and life will resume normally on Monday.
